Another ideas formed that involved adding a fourth screen to the system. It was going to be a 0.91-inch 128x32 OLED screen. However, it was impossible to change its i2c address so that had to be dropped.
With that as a failure, a trip over to this build's favourite website, AliExpress, to see what was available using SPI. One was found, well a couple were but this seemed to be the best for what it needs to do & it was small enough to fit the required area.
It's a 1.8 inch 240x240 pixel full colour TFT screen!
It's currently on a slow junk from China so who knows when it'll arrive as AliExpress is very random on timescales.
It's arrived, finally but that's a whole differnt story, but there are issues with connecting it up to the chain. There is also something else on the SPI bus, the RFID card reader! When this is figured out then it should all be fine!
